Stone Wool's motto is "Modern Yarns from Heirloom Sheep". This limited edition yarn from Arapawa sheep in New Zealand is a perfect example of this. Arapawa sheep are feral and appear in rich shades of brown, black, gray and creamy white. Stone Wool has taken advantage of their natural color variation and blended fleeces to make a warm brown, tweedy yarn. Arapawa wool is unusually soft, with a dry and almost weightless, lofty hand. Softly spun and deeply squishy, Stone Wool's Arapawa is best in either the simplest of stitches, i.e. stockinette or garter stitch, or the boldest of texture patterns.
