Get Knitting for Beginners
Come learn how to knit! In this class, you will learn how to cast on, knit, purl, and bind off. No experience? No worries! Whether you are a true beginner who has never held knitting needles before or it has been a minute since you have, this is the place for you. We will cover basic knitting pattern terminology to work on a small piece that you can use as a coaster when you are finished.

Heimathafen Sweater (4 Sessions, Room A & B) - SOLD OUT
Heimathafen, by Isabell Kraemer, is worked seamlessly from the top down. The beautiful allover “dip stitch colorwork”-stripe pattern highlights the round yoke construction and results in a classic but modern sailor pullover. Starting with the neck shaping, short rows are worked back and forth to create a higher back neck. The yoke is then worked in the round to sleeve separation. Increases are worked in the main color part of the yoke. The lower part of the yoke is shaped with raglan increases. Sleeve stitches are placed on hold to work the body top down. The 7/8 sleeves (feel free to reduce/add length) are worked top down in rounds to the cuffs. No finishing required.

Mom and Me Beginners Knitting
A fun class for Moms (or Dads, Mimis, Aunties, etc...) and Kids that want to get started with knitting! This class is for 8-14 years old, and both the adult and the child must register individually. In this class, students will learn basic knitting skills including how to tie a slip knot, cast on, do knit stitches, and work across a row. We will make a small practice swatch during class that students can continue to work on afterward. Please refer to the Requirements section for necessary class supplies.

Looking to improve your knitting with some new tips and tricks? Come hang out with Keri as she works through Patty Lyons’ Knitting Bag of Tricks Workbook this summer! We will have snacks, conversations, and do this “book club style” while we learn about why we knit the way we knit. We will improve our knitting skills with practical exercises and swatching. Participants will receive a free McKinney Knittery Logo Tote at the first class to carry all their book club supplies! This will be a fun way for both experienced and beginner knitters to improve their craft.
