Book Club Cardigan (4 Sessions - Rooms A&B)
The Book Club Cardigan has a relaxed fit with dropped shoulders and is knit seamlessly top down with a diamond cable pattern.
It is started at the back neck and then increased to the full width of the back. Stitches are picked up along the sloped shoulders for the fronts. The pieces are joined at the underarm and the body is then knitted in one piece. Pockets are added as you work the body of the sweater. The sleeve stitches are then picked up from the body and worked in the round. A double knit button band is then worked for a nice finish.

| Skill Details: | Must know how to read a pattern, cast on, knit, purl, and execute basic increases. Must have knit at least one sweater. Must know how to work from a chart. Will learn how to choose a correct size based on swatch and will learn how to pick up stitches. |
| Requirements: | Must purchase Book Club Cardigan pattern (by Sari Nordlund, at the shop or Ravelry) and worsted weight yarn. Bring needles and stitch markers, or they can be purchased at the shop. |

| Instructor Bio: | Melissa is the queen of sweater knitting...not to mention hats, socks, shawls, etc... She has been knitting since before Ravelry, and is a virtual library of popular sweater patterns. She also knows her way around a sewing machine. In addition to knitting, she loves cats and french fries. |
