McKinney Knittery Class Policies

Please pay special attention to prerequisites for each class. Instructors prepare classes based on each student’s knowledge of these skills. We are happy to help you prepare for the class before it begins. All of our classes are for those age 14 years and up, with the exception of those specifically identified as kids classes. Exceptions must be authorized by the class instructor prior to signing up.

Be aware that parking can be challenging in Downtown McKinney. Classes will start on time, so allow plenty of time to find parking—even better, come early and enjoy a meal or some shopping before class! Our goal is to help enrich every student’s passion for knitting and sewing by expanding skills and understanding new techniques. We offer small class sizes to ensure every student receives the help they require. We want every student to go home feeling confident and successful in the new skills learned.

All class fees are due at the time of sign-up and are non-refundable, unless the class is cancelled in which case fees will immediately be refunded. If unable to attend please notify the shop right away. We know stuff happens and schedules can change, so we keep a wait list in the event a class is full and there is a cancellation. If we are able to fill your spot we will refund your class fee. Please observe the dates for each class to ensure your schedule will allow you to complete the class before signing up.

Class fees are for the class only and do not include any materials unless otherwise noted in the class description.

Out of fairness to our instructors, we have a student minimum to conduct each class. Any class that does not reach the minimum within 48 hours of the start of the class will be cancelled and you will be notified.

Please read the skills required for each class prior to signing up. Each class is designed to teach a specific technique and not necessarily the skills required to perform the technique. The dedicated class time does not account for teaching the skills in the list of Required Skills and the instructor will not have time to teach the specified Required Skills. If you have any questions, please contact us before signing up for the class and together we will make sure you are ready to get the most out of the class.

Knit Togethers at the shop! Our Knit Togethers are held M/T/W/Th 6p-8p. We have two sitting areas and room to spread out.
