The Champagne Cardigan is worked from the top down with raglan increases on the yoke and a deep V-neck. The neckline of the cardigan is shaped with short rows by raising the back of the neck. The button plackets are worked in double knitting with buttonholes along the right side. Don't wait to sign up. Class sign ups close one week prior to the first class.

Cost: $ 90.00
Come learn to knit entrelac patterns while making an elegant cowl or scarf. The entrelac technique creates a deeply textured diagonal basket weave fabric. It knits up beautifully with self-striping or variegated yarns, so you can use that skein you have in your stash and have been wondering what to do with it!

Cost: $ 40.00
Put those yarn overs to good use with some lace knitting! This class will teach you the basics of knitting lace, including reading both written and charted patterns, working increases and decreases, understanding pattern repeats and stitch pattern multiples, and (intentionally) adding yarn overs. We will study and admire several common lace patterns from easy to complex, but we will start out with a super simple stitch pattern in class so you can get the hang of it. You will also receive a free pattern to work on after class in case you decide lace knitting is for you. It is easier than you think, so come knit some lace with us!

Cost: $ 30.00
Double knitting lets you knit two layers of fabric at once and can be used to make double-thick and completely reversible patterns. The technique can be a bit of a brain-bender, especially when worked flat, but we are going to do it in the round, so no tricky back and forth. If you can confidently cast on, knit and purl in the round, you can double knit! We will take it slowly and build up to using a charted pattern. You will spend the first part of class practicing (no stress! rip out freely!) before starting a small pouch project. It will make a perfect gift for yourself or somebody who appreciates hand knits. You will get loads of hands on help during class, detailed written instructions, and a list of resources and patterns. Come double knit!

Cost: $ 40.00
This is an introduction to knitting for the true beginner. Learn to cast on and do the knit stitch.

Cost: $ 30.00
Make your own stitch patterns! This class is excellent for both beginners and experienced knitters who want to up their game. Sequence knitting repeats combinations of stitches row-by-row to create unique, (often) reversible fabrics. If you love knitting textures or are looking for new ideas to combine yarns (especially variegated yarns), this is for you. We will use knits, purls, and a tiny bit of knitting math (no worries - I will help!) to make stitch patterns line up or serpentine across the fabric. We will spend most of the class practicing simple sequences to understand the process and then you will have time to invent your own sequences with the techniques that appeal to you most.

Cost: $ 40.00
Turn a "whoops" into a "well done!" Learn how to read your stitches so you can find and fix simple knitting mistakes with confidence.

Cost: $ 30.00
Are your stitches too tight? Is your work too loose and lumpy? Do your wrists get sore? Want to be able to carry your yarn a different way? You have found the right class. Tension issues are fixable! Bring a work in progress (WIP) to class and we will evaluate what is happening and make modifications to even out, loosen, or tighten your tension. Please note, this is not a beginner knitting class or a fix-your-mistakes class (click here for the Find It, Fix It class page). Students should already be knitting and have a project in progress that they would like to be able to improve with better tension.

Cost: $ 30.00
Come learn how to knit socks! If you can confidently knit, purl, decrease, and work in the round (using DPNs, two circulars, or magic loop method), you can make socks. In this class we will knit an entire baby sock from top to toe using beginner friendly worsted weight yarn. You will learn the anatomy of a sock, a simple short row technique, and how to pick up stitches for the heel gusset. Afterward, you can apply the news skills you have learned to make socks of any size!

Cost: $ 40.00
Tuck stitch isn't just for machine knitting. Different from drop stitch or slip stitch knitting, it is a beautiful brioche method of creating intricate lace patterns using multiple yarn overs or by knitting into rows below. It is also a term sometimes used for creating welts on the surface of the fabric. We will explore several examples of tuck stitch patterns, both simple and complex. Because this class will involve basic brioche techniques, proficiency with brioche is a prerequisite. A demonstration will be provided for each stitch technique and we will knit samples of each in class. You will also receive a free custom designed pattern to create a lacy scarf or cowl that uses the methods you learn. Just bring your needles and pre-work swatches, your thinking cap, and be ready to tuck it in! PLEASE NOTE: This class has pre-work and requires proficiency in brioche and lace techniques.

Cost: $ 40.00
This is a beginning knitting class for ages 8-13 only. Come learn how to knit! In this class, you will learn the very basics of knitting, including how to tie a slip knot, how to cast on, and the knit stitch. We will make a small practice swatch during class and you will receive a free pattern for a small knitting project you can do on your own. Please refer to the Requirements section for necessary class supplies.

The Lyon Sweater is worked from the top down with raglan increases on the yoke. The sweater yoke construction is a unique method of shaping without short rows and Melissa will walk students through it. Another feature of this project is working a contiguous shoulder/sleeve, working stripes using the jogless method. Class will cover the folded neck edge. Don't wait to sign up. Class sign ups close one week prior to the first class.

Cost: $ 90.00

Learn and practice stranded colorwork and German short rows with Melissa while making this beautiful sweater pattern by Midori Hirose. From the pattern's Ravelry description: A sweater inspired by Paul Klee's paintings. You will play with colors and develop their combinations with square motifs. You can mix and match many colors, or use just a few, for example 4 to 6 colors. This would be a great way to use up some of your minis or scraps.
